When your phone stops working or when you buy a new phone or any other electronic products, What happens to the old one? It doesn't just disappear. It becomes E-waste. Here are the examples of electronic waste include, but not limited to; TV’s monitors, lamps, clocks, flashlight, calculators, radios, scanners, mp3, cables and circuit boards and also including kitchen equipment such as toasters, ovens etc. and also laboratory equipment. The disposal of e-waste has become a serious environmental problem during the last few decades because of the reckless use and by not knowing how to dispose it. Almost every electronics products can contain heavy metals like cadmium, lead and copper etc which contaminate the environment. Well these products are not supposed to be disposed in the Trash instead of that there are various methods to dispose the e-waste. Nowadays in many colleges students are coming up with the e-waste bins where they dispose all sorts of electronic products, those are later recycled. The other way to dispose e-waste is to give it back to a certified e-waste recyclers, or even by selling it back to the electronic shops as an exchange. One of the best way to dispose e-waste is by donating the computers or laptops to an NGO where it will be useful for many others, plenty of nonprofit organizations and local communities offer options to help you recycle old electronics. Well if the disposing of your e-waste is given to recycling it can also be used to make many daily used products such as refurbished devices which are made from old, recycled tools. Jewellery such as rings, chains, bracelets earrings etc are often designed from old computer parts, even some of the furnitures are made of recycled e-waste. All the new appliances which we use today are also made of e-waste by melting it down and remoulding into newer product. Lastly to keep ourselves, other living creatures, and our planet safe, we must be careful and responsible when disposing our electrical stuff.
