Pollutants refers to materials that create pollution. These are substances that cannot be recycled so they stay in their original form and keep on rotting. Pollutants act as a threat to the environment and should be taken down before they create a harm.
Whenever you look at water body you see how clean it is? How do you know if it's clean or not? Generally we observe if its colour is more white-ish or clear rather in darker tones. The criteria is simple but is this the actual way to know whether the water is clean? A better way could be to compare the number of pollutants present in these lakes during a time period of 5 years.
Bangalore being one of the cleanest city, rates high in pollution where you see Ulsoor lake declined in its water levels and quality. The reasons may be many but this lake may not be accessible for a lot of activities. Now the next step is to know the pollutants and compare its composition . So in general the commonly found pollutants are domestic wastes ,chemical wastes, heavy metals, and pollutants by livestock. These are gradually increasing which is not a very good sign. The water is also drying up at a faster rate.
These pollutants not only destroy the lakes but makes life difficult for all the living organisms .Water is very important for human survival and the degradation can damage lives. It needs to stop and people need to be more careful and accountable for their actions.
These pollutants which damage the environment should be cleared in the near future and make it accessible .A lot needs to be addressed and justified. After all its never too late to start .
