River waste is one of the biggest problems today the world is facing. India is the biggest country suffering from the river pollution these days and in India the tech park city is on 5th. Bangalore everyday generates 2.1 million tones of municipal solid waste. The waste is generated by Karnataka state pollution control board (KSPCB) under central pollution control board (CPCB). Everyday about 5 liters of liquid waste is disposed in the river by the municipalities. The liquid waste from the hospital, industries and household mining wastes contains non toxic inorganic substances or toxic organic substances which is making the river grubby. The municipality of Bangalore takes care of every step before dumping it anywhere. The solid wastes first goes for incineration process. Using double and single chamber process the waste is recycled and the quarter of them gets disposed in the water. “We take care of every process before disposing it into any water side. The industries go for several processes and rules which make sure that they release the harmful chemicals in the gutter and the non-chemical waste goes in the river, which release less harmful gases.” Says municipalities head. The industries and hospital follow proper sequences before giving the wastes to the municipalities the techniques includes Rotary Kiln, Pyrolytic Incineration, chemical disinfection, wet thermal treatment. After all these treatment the wastes are disposed. The Nandani milk factory of Bangalore goes through particular rules and regulations of government that they can’t produce more than 150 liters of liquid waste a day. The waste should go through deep sedimentation, dilution and mechanical process after only all this they can unload the waste. Even though all these steps are taking care. The pollution hasn’t decreased yet. One of the effected rivers of the Bangalore is the Arkavati river of Nandi hills. Due to the river pollution the water Arkavati have affected the ground water quality of many of the area of the river. Due to these entire problems the river became dry.
